The Britannica Kids Campaign was all about promoting the joy and discovery packed into their new hardcover Kids Encyclopedia with a special summer bundle. For this 2021 promotion, we leaned into vibrant, rich graphics that captured the playful feel of doodling in a notebook—mirroring the excitement and creativity found in the book’s dynamic page layouts.

The campaign ran throughout the summer, highlighting the fun and educational spirit of Britannica Kids while making the encyclopedia a must-have for curious young minds. With bold visuals and engaging designs, the campaign brought learning to life in a way that was as exciting as turning the pages of the book itself.

The Challenge

Encyclopedia Britannica, the go-to source for all things knowledge, had just launched a new hardcover Kids Encyclopedia designed to inspire curiosity and help children of all ages explore a wide range of topics. They approached us to create a summer promotion that would bundle the book with access to their online learning platform. The challenge? Make this campaign as engaging and dynamic as the content inside the book, while capturing the attention of both kids and their parents.

The Approach

The most magical moment of kids’ learning experience is when they’ve taken information in and their mind wanders through all the possibilities. The who, what, when, where and why of it all. So we put on our thinking caps and dreamed up oodles of doodles. Because simple doodles are the perfect representation of that. They can be anything. They can be created anywhere. They can represent ideas, thoughts or memories. And they’re just as playful as everything our bundle offers. We pushed this message throughout the landing page, email and social banners to create a rich look and feel with a robust message: Summer learning can still be fun!

The Solution

This playful, imaginative theme carried through every element of the campaign, from the landing page to email and social banners. The vibrant visuals were paired with a clear message: Summer learning can still be fun! By blending creativity with the excitement of discovery, we brought Britannica’s summer bundle to life in a way that resonated with both kids and parents alike.
